The spotlight for June 2008 is on:

Ted and Linda Kenison

Crooked Fence Alpacas

How long have you been involved with alpacas?  We first started investigating in September of 2004, after reading an article about start up businesses for people over 50 - then we visited 3 farms and we were hooked...

Tell us about yourself.   What did you do before alpacas?

Ted works in manufacturing he is shop foreman and his company builds gun vaults.  Linda is a bookkeeper, with a day job and multiple side companies that she does payroll and keeps books for.

How many alpacas do you have now?   19 - 15 girls- 4 boys    What kind?  huacaya

Tell us what got you involved in alpacas.    We have always wanted a farm, but until we were introduced to alpacas we could never find a way to make a small farm profitable.  After visiting Leslie Loveless in Mapleton and Carol Frazier in Heber, we knew this was the right direction for us.

Do you have a ranch motto?  Success is loving what you do.

Share a fun story about you and your alpacas..   What???? you want to know about the times we have been spit at?  or about our old biddy who hides her head in the corner of the barn so we can't see her or when she pees her pants (figuratively speaking) when we have to trim her toes or touch her?....

How many cria  are you expecting this year?   2 already here and 5 more coming

Tell us any thing else you think might be interesting to your fellow IMpaca members.

Get involved - you will learn so much - it is well worth the time it takes.
